About Us

Hey, I’m Dominick Hughes, the founder of Dream Like Product, a custom laser engraving business that grew out of a journey of healing, creativity, and purpose.

I’m an active-duty sailor in the United States Navy, originally from Colorado Springs, Colorado. I’m also a husband and a proud father of four amazing kids. My path to this business began during one of the hardest times in my life.

I was struggling with alcohol addiction, and it was tearing everything apart — my family, my marriage, and my career. I knew I had to make a change, so I made the decision to self-refer into a rehab facility and start over. On my first day there, I noticed a wall lined with metal plaques representing each military branch. I immediately thought, "I’m going to buy the Navy one," but after a week of sitting in that facility, staring at those plaques, a different thought came to me, "I think I can make that."

I asked myself "what would it take to create something like that?" and laser engraving popped into my mind! From that moment, something clicked and for the next 25 days, I began planning. I sketched ideas, made notes, and imagined what this business could look like. The moment I walked out of rehab, I bought my first laser engraver and started building Dream Like Product.

Dream Like Product is more than an engraving business. It’s a symbol of transformation, a way to channel creativity into something meaningful. It’s a reflection of who I am and what I’ve come through. I find inspiration in the vastness of the cosmos, the unknown depths of the ocean, the secrets of dreams, the true meaning of spirituality in aligning one's self, and the ways of life of ancient civilizations. These influences fuel my creativity and guide the designs I bring to life.
